I think we need to look at our year now that the first quarter is coming to a close and focus on the immediate next quarter and plan ahead for the rest of the year.
How are you balancing work and life?
I’m teaching this topic, and yet I see fingers pointing back at me.
The only excuse I can think of is: if you’re doing what you want to do, doing what you love to do, and you’re making some strides, your progress may be infinitesimal on a daily basis. But when you look back at the last year, be kind to yourself.
Here are some questions I ask my students:
- Do a SWOT analysis and figure out your mission, and vision, and overall purpose in your life.
- After you find your purpose, focus on the chapter your writing now. Learn the lessons of the past, focus on the now, and keep the endgame in mind.
- Consider everyone who crosses your path as someone who has been providentially put there for you to help, learn from, or share an experience. This might be for the moment, for a season, for a lifetime.
When we come to this time of year, I am personally thrilled to know that we will be back on Daylight Savings Time! I love the light and I love the longer evenings.
Here’s wishing you the blessings of spring that your life blossoms and grows in the ways you wish.
